Evangelical Community Hospital Acquires OB/GYN Associates of Lewisburg
Evangelical Community Hospital’s Board of Directors recently announced the acquisition of OB/GYN Associates of Lewisburg. The full ownership transition will be effective July 1, 2014, at which time management of the practice will be under the direction of Evangelical Medical Services Organization (EMSO).
The purchase of the practice brings together OB/GYN Associates’ successful history of providing comprehensive women’s healthcare and Evangelical’s realized vision of convenient, accessible, and affordable health services for women of the local communities.
“Evangelical has long been dedicated to the healthcare needs of women and providing them with options for their care. The addition of OB/GYN Associates to Evangelical marries the Hospital’s certified obstetric staff, surgical and obstetric capabilities and facilities, and technological advances, with a thriving practice of experts in the field of gynecology and obstetrics,” said Michael O’Keefe, President and CEO of Evangelical Community Hospital. “The ultimate result is skilled services for women seeking professionals they can trust, in the compassionate environment for which Evangelical is known.”
Established in 1995, OB/GYN Associates of Lewisburg includes four board-certified physicians, four certified midwives, two certified registered nurse practitioners (CRNP), and a certified physician assistant (PA). These experienced providers offer a wide-range of healthcare services for women of all ages, including obstetrical and prenatal care, high-risk pregnancy, infertility, and all aspects of gynecological care and surgery.
Russell Stankiewicz, MD, FACOG, CCD, NCMP, said, “This purchase agreement with Evangelical is a natural progression for OB/GYN Associates. It allows our well-established practice to continue providing the exceptional care for women it has for nearly two decades and opens the door for expansion and growth in a changing healthcare landscape.”
