Ultimate Express Car Wash Cleans Up For Breast Cancer

Ultimate Express Car Wash, Selinsgrove, recently presented Evangelical Community Hospital’s Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health with a check for $1,087. The funds were raised through a Customer Appreciation Day held on Saturday, October 26, 2013. The day included a retail and food vendor fair where local vendors could set up stands for customers of the car wash to visit and shop or gather information. 94KX, a station of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation and partner in the October Paint the Valley Pink campaign, was also on hand to broadcast the event live. The donated funds came from 50% of car wash sales that day, customer donations, and the fees from the vendors to be part of the fair.

This is the second year Ultimate Express chose the Center for Breast Health as the recipient of their Customer Appreciation day funds. The donation will be used by the Center for Breast Health to provide mammograms and breast imaging to women who are un and underinsured, support the cancer survivorship program that supports those diagnosed with cancer throughout the year, and offset the cost of equipment and technology that allows the Center to remain one of the most comprehensive centers in the Commonwealth.
