|  Michael O'Keefe was named President/CEO of Evangelical Community Hospital in 2004. He was previously the Vice-President of Operations and Chief Operations Officer for 13 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York and his Master's Degree in Public Administration from The American University in Washington, DC. He began his career in healthcare administration in 1977 as Assistant Director of Professional Services, and then as Director of Health Related Services at Community-General Hospital in Syracuse, New York. In 1984, Mr. O'Keefe accepted the position as Vice President for Operations at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in Newark, New York. He remained in this position until he began his tenure at Evangelical in 1991.
Mr. O'Keefe is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves locally as a member of the Board of Directors of Swineford National Bank and the Board of Directors of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the state-wide HAP Committee on Quality and Care Management. He is the Co-Chair for the Central Susquehanna Valley Heart Walk and the Division Chair of the Campaign for Downtown Lewisburg.
He has been married to Gail Messiter O'Keefe for more than 30 years and they are the parents of three grown daughters: Molly, Erin and Kerry.
