Evangelical Community Hospital and Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation Join Forces to "Rock Red for Healthy Hearts" in February

Every minute of every day an American dies of a heart-related condition. Despite this sobering statistic, there are ways to prevent heart disease and minimize its impact on your health and well-being.

In February, Evangelical Community Hospital and the stations of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation are teaming up to "Rock Red for Healthy Hearts" for American Heart Month. Throughout the month, Evangelical will host events, like the Good Life Expo, and heart healthy screenings.

The Good Life Expo

Designed to encourage people to live fun, healthy and happy lives, The Good Life Expo will be held from 10 am to 3 pm Saturday, February 18, in the Susquehanna Valley Mall.

Free Health Screens

• 10 am-3pm
  Access your risk of developing a variety of health issues, including heart disease, osteoporosis, hearing loss, joint and lung conditions as well as sleep problems.

Free Antique Appraisals

• Noon-3 pm
  What is it worth? with nationally known expert Dr. Lori.
  Open to the first 75 to register; registration begins at 10 am.
  No weapons permitted.

Free Entertainment

• 10:30 am
  Singers of all ages are invited to compete! Grand prize is a three-hour studio recording session and $100 Susquehanna Mall gift certificate.
  Registration required by February 16.

Free Healthy Heart Screenings

A 12-hour fast is recommended for this screening and appointments are required. The screening includes lipid panel, blood pressure, body composition, cardiac risk assessment and blood oxygen saturation test. The results will be reviewed by a physician and mailed to you.

Free blood pressure screens are also offered from 9 am-noon every Monday, from noon-4 pm every Wednesday and from 9 am-1 pm every Friday in the Community Health Education Center, Route 15, Lewisburg.
