Community Health Education
Community Health Education at Evangelical Community Hospital is devoted to prevention, early intervention and health education--the forerunners of health care today. Community Health Education provides an array of health screenings, health fairs, lectures and support groups. We offer programs for people of all ages including children, parents, parents-to-be and grandparents. Evangelical is committed to "taking care of our community" and believes that by enhancing awareness and creating an environment that supports good health practices, we can make a difference in many lives today and in the future.
Among our many activities last year, Community Health Education provided more than 2,500 flu vaccinations. 1,400 children and their families attended the Annual Children's Health Fair. These are only a few of the activities held each year to not only make community members' lives healthier and fuller but also to help save them. Through our programs we are able to identify persons at risk for a stroke, heart attack, diabetes, prostate cancer and breast cancer, as well as other health risks or injuries.
