The chaplain at Evangelical Community Hospital is available to support your pastoral and spiritual needs during your hospitalization. The chaplain encourages your faith by providing strength, comfort, and healing. Sharing your concerns with someone who can support you may be very helpful.

The chaplain can help you with the following:

• Support you in your use of personal resources and faith during your illness.
• Encourage and listen to you during difficult times.
• Offer comfort in times of grief and crisis.
• Assist you in remembering your experiences of God's sustaining, protecting and healing presence.
• Support you if you are distressed by religious or spiritual dilemmas.
• Assist you in arranging appropriate services at the time of childbirth, progress in your recovery, or during other personally important events in the hospital.
• Contact your clergy or locate representatives of your own religious tradition.
• Respond to your spiritual and/or emotional needs.
• Offer emphatic support and compassion with no religious boundaries.
• Contact an appropriate priest, pastor, imam or rabbi if necessary.
