The Family Place

Each year, more than 1,000 babies are welcomed to Evangelical’s Maternity Unit, The Family Place. Each new beginning deserves special attention. That's why The Family Place is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of mothers and babies through the nursing concept of family-centered maternity care.

The nurses in The Family Place are skilled in all areas of obstetrical care--from labor and delivery to postpartum care. That means one nurse can take care of mom and her new baby from birth to discharge.

At the Family Place, we offer comfortable, pleasant birthing rooms, each with a private bathroom containing a whirlpool tub and shower. In addition to vaginal deliveries, the staff is prepared to handle cesarean births or vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Rest assured that whatever your medical needs are at this time, they will be met by the most competent and compassionate staff in the area.

Evangelical Community Hospital has taken steps to increase the security of The Family Place. The Hospital implemented the Hugs Infant Protection system, and limited access to The Family Place through one main entrance outside of Elevators D and E. (learn more about infant security)
