Common impairments addressed in rehabilitation are: loss of
mobility, difficulty with ambulation, loss of coordination
and balance, difficulty in everyday activities of daily living
(dressing, grooming, bathing, homemaking), difficulty swallowing,
difficulty with speech and language, and judgment difficulties.
The staff will make recommendations based on the resident's
needs for equipment, such as a walker or a cane, wheelchair
seating, or bathroom needs to maximize their independence
with functional mobility. Prior to discharge, the staff may
also perform a home assessment, taking the resident and a
family member to the home to evaluate the environment and
ensure safety within the home.

of therapy per day. The rehabilitation staff is highly-trained
to treat those patients who have had a stroke or other neurological

general weakness and debilitation, & compromised cardiovascular
