Speech Therapy

Speech therapy develops programs for patients who have suffered communication and/or swallowing impairments related to neurological injuries or disease, or structural changes related to cancer of the mouth or throat. Evaluation and treatment areas include:

  • Speech/articulation impairment (including voice)
  • Language/cognitive impairment
  • Swallowing disorders, including evaluation through use of a "Modified Barium Sallow" (MBS) which uses various foods and liquid consistencies under x-ray to determine the area of difficulty and establish a treatment program
