Your Orthopaedic Assessment
At SUN Orthopaedics of Evangelical, we are committed to improving every patient’s outcome. We focus on preventive care and use non-invasive diagnostic techniques to explore the most effective treatment options for each individual. In addition to conventional radiography, we offer the latest diagnostic techniques for the musculoskeletal system, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and computed tomography (CT Scan).
For the most advanced bone density testing, we use DEXA scan, a densitometry device with dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry. Bone mineral density (BMD) is the single most important predictor of bone fragility and accounts for 80% of an individual’s risk of suffering a fracture. A bone density scan is quick and painless, and can more accurately predict bone mass in individual patients than routine x-rays.
Sometimes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is needed to get a closer look at an orthopaedic condition. We offer MRI diagnostic testing to help diagnose orthopaedic injuries to the extremities, including knees, ankles, elbows, wrists, and hands. The detailed imaging provided by MRI enables us to gain valuable information and diagnose patients more quickly and accurately, so treatment and healing can begin as soon as possible.
Our specialists look to non-surgical solutions, including medication and physical therapy, whenever possible. When surgery is the preferred option we offer minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques for safer, shorter surgeries that result in reduced post-operative pain and faster recovery times for our patients.
In addition to total joint replacement
, our advanced surgical options include:
- Spine surgery for all types of spinal disorders, from herniated discs and deformity to removal of tumors and reconstruction following trauma to the spine
