J. Preston, MD and June M. Hoyle Endowment

The J. Preston, MD and June M. Hoyle Endowment was established in 2006 by a generous gift from Mrs. June Hoyle in honor of her husband, J. Preston Hoyle, MD and his commitment to the care of children and families in the Lewisburg area. Annual income from the endowment will provide support to Evangelical Community Hospital’s Maternity Unit, The Family Place.

In 2006 more than 1000 babies were welcomed to The Family Place. The Family Place is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of mothers and babies through the nursing concept of family centered maternity care.  The staff of The Family Place is made up of well-trained compassionate professionals who are dedicated to providing personal and quality care to mothers and their newborns.

J. Preston Hoyle, MD began his Pediatric practice in Lewisburg in 1960.  He also worked for Bucknell University in the student services department.  Dr. Hoyle served on the Hospitals Board of Directors before he retired in 1986.  After that he served as a member of the courtesy staff until his death in 2003. 

June Hoyle remains very involved with Evangelical Community Hospital.  She also served on the Hospitals Board of Directors and is an active member of the Lewisburg Auxiliary.  She recently established a children’s playroom in the Hospital’s new Emergency Department in honor of her late husband.  She frequently visits her three grown children and seven grandchildren.
