Ryan McNally Named Director of Miller Center Joint Venture

Ryan McNally has been named Director of the recently announced joint venture that brings together Evangelical Community Hospital, Geisinger, the Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness, and the Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA.

In the role of Director of the Miller Center Joint Venture, McNally serves as the primary on-site leader. He is accountable for all aspects of the YMCA at the Miller Center, powered by Evangelical and Geisinger. Areas of oversight include facilities, leadership, strategic and overall planning, customer and vendor communications, and new business development.

McNally has been part of the Evangelical family of employees since May 2016 first serving as a Community Health and Wellness Instructor and Fitness Center Attendant, then advancing in August 2016 to the role of Community Health and Wellness Educator and Wellness at Work Coordinator. In addition, he has served as a personal trainer at the Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness since July 2017.

McNally holds a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in exercise science and minoring in coaching from the University of Mount Union, Alliance, Ohio. He is a certified health coach with the American Council on Exercise, a certified WELCOA (Wellness Council of America) faculty member, a cancer exercise specialist with training from the Cancer Exercise Training Institute, a qualified trainer in TRX Suspension Training, a certified child passenger safety technician, and a BLS/CPR/First Aide Instructor with the American Heart Association.

Community-minded, McNally is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Susquehanna Valley (LSV), a member of the programs committee of LSV, a committee member of Evangelical Community Hospital’s Enhancing the Evangelical Experience campaign focused on employee giving, and a member of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Young Professionals Executive Committee.

“Ryan brings great enthusiasm for wellness to Evangelical Community Hospital and has been vital in growing programming and opportunities for employees to manage not only their physical health, but their mental and emotional well-being,” said William Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Evangelical Community Hospital.

“His involvement with the Miller Center as a trainer gives him the background he needs to join medical health with fitness initiatives that can harness the strengths of the YMCA, Miller Center, Evangelical, and Geisinger. We expect under Ryan’s leadership that the community will benefit from the new ideas he’ll bring to the joint venture.”

Joint Venture at the Miller Center

Known as the YMCA at the Miller Center, powered by Evangelical and Geisinger, the joint venture was announced in August 2019 and is expected to have a lasting impact on the health and wellness of the region.

This is the first joint venture of Evangelical and Geisinger under their enhanced relationship that was announced in 2018. The YMCA is contracted to run the day-to-day operations of the fitness and recreation programming at the Miller Center. The future of the venture includes the acquisition of an additional six acres around the Miller Center facility to expand parking, making room for two new pools—one for competition and one for general aquatics—and to create an enhanced childcare area.
