The acquisition, effective July 2, 2018, includes the practice, endoscopy center, and associated real estate.

“Expanding the spectrum of services at Evangelical positions the Hospital as a centralized and comprehensive hub for medical care in our thriving community,” said Kendra Aucker, President and CEO. “I’m excited to welcome Central Penn GI to our growing network of medical services and employed practices and looking forward to what this means for our patients.”

“At Evangelical, we continue to push the envelope of what’s expected of a typical community hospital,” she added.

In addition to the employees, Central Penn Gastroenterology Associates includes Vladimir Petorak Jr., MD; Joseph B. Gallagher, MD; Georgina Ferriero, PA-C; and Hillarie Hartzell, PA-C. Central Penn is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and an American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Center of Excellence for Quality and Safety.

“Central Penn GI has enjoyed a solid and collaborative working relationship with Evangelical over the years,” said Dr. Petorak. “This acquisition will take both the practice and the Hospital to the next level of care; we look forward to joining the team.”
