Walking Track Adjacent to Evangelical Community Hospital Campus Impacted by Construction

June 07, 2018

Beginning Monday, June 11, 2018, the walking track located adjacent to Evangelical Community Hospital, will be impacted by construction of the Hospital’s Patient Room Improvement Modernization and Enhancement (PRIME) project.

For those who use the track, the west side, will be unavailable for use. This area will be the staging area for materials needed for PRIME. The east side will still be available for fitness efforts but users are encouraged to use caution in the area.

The closure will be until the completion of the PRIME project, but the east side will still be available throughout the project.

For those who use the track on a regular basis, once PRIME has come to completion, the one-third-mile oval will be redone to ensure a good surface for future use.

An alternate site for regular users of Evangelical’s walking track is the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority Rail Trail in Lewisburg.

PRIME is a $72 million construction project, which includes an 112,000-square-foot, 4-story new addition, and the renovation of 20,000 square feet of existing space. The project will allow every patient to have their own room and private bathroom. Construction will begin in the coming weeks.
