Arterial Conditions

Occlusive Arterial Diseases, or diseases that involve the reduction of blood flow through the arteries

Atherosclerosis-Related Diseases, or diseases that involve hardening of the arteries

  • carotid artery disease – arteries supplying blood to the brain, neck, and face
  • vertebral artery disease – arteries supplying blood to parts of the brain and upper spinal column 
  • renal artery disease – arteries supplying blood to the kidneys
  • mesenteric intestinal disease – arteries supplying blood to the gastrointestinal tract
  • lower and upper extremity arterial disease – arteries supplying blood to the arms, hands, legs, and feet

Non-Atherosclerotic Arterial Diseases

  • Raynaud’s Disease – a condition where blood vessel spasms result in diminished blood supply to tissues
  • Buerger’s Disease – a condition where blood vessels become inflamed, swell, and can become blocked with blood clots
