While we fully expect all pregnancies will result in a happy, healthy baby, The Family Place provides compassionate care to patients who experiencing perinatal loss.
The Perinatal Loss program is administrated by nurses specially trained as bereavement counselors. Families receive memory boxes, pictures of their loved one and several mementos.
The Empty Arms Support Group was developed by the bereavement counselors at The Family Place to provide continuing support for the families experiencing loss.
Registration for meetings is required. Call (570) 768-3200 if you are interested in attending or would like more information.
Located next to the Degenstein Pavilion/Main Entrance of the Hospital, the Memorial Garden is a special place for family and friends to remember a loved one. This tranquil setting is filled with beautiful plantings, a gazebo and a walking path designed to encourage relaxation and reflection. Two special remembrance plaques are located within the garden.
