2013 Evangelical Gala Event Set To Raise Funds For Comprehensive Diabetes Program

The Evangelical Gala, Evangelical Community Hospital’s premier fundraising event, will take place on Saturday, March 9 at Larison Hall on the campus of Bucknell University. The Gala begins with a 5:30 pm cocktail hour and a silent auction, followed by dinner, dancing and a live auction.
Proceeds from this year’s Gala will support an effort to establish a comprehensive diabetes care program at Evangelical Community Hospital. According to the American Diabetes Association, nearly 26 million adults and children in the United States have diabetes, and that number continues to grow. The comprehensive diabetes care initiative at Evangelical will serve the residents of the Susquehanna Valley by providing support and programs for those with diabetes and offering preventative care for those exhibiting signs of pre-diabetes.
As in years past, the Gala features silent and live auctions with exciting prizes. Included on this year’s roster of auction items are a three-night stay at Loews Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland, a six-night stay in Marco Island, Florida, a power parachute ride, a variety of elegant gift baskets, fine jewelry, and more.
The 2013 Gala has been generously supported by businesses and friends of the Hospital. This year’s Grand Sponsor is Stantec, a professional design and consulting firm. The Entertainment Sponsor is VNA Health System. The evening’s Design Sponsor is Quandel, Inc. and the floral sponsor is Geisinger Health System. Mifflinburg Bank and Trust is the Gala’s Live Auction Sponsor. Cocktail Hour Sponsors include the Degenstein Foundation, Weis Markets, Commerce Benefits Group, OM Workspace, Cornerstone Advisors, and Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation. Silent Auction sponsors for the event are Wood-Mode, EH Kleckner, Villager Realty, Coldwell Banker Penn One, Pediatric Dentistry of Lewisburg, Sun Orthopaedic, Inc., Silvertip, CATV, Rug Outlet, Payne Printing, Rippon McDonald’s, Opsco Energy, and EMS Surgical. In addition, The Daily Item has supported the Gala through ad sponsorship.
