2014 Gala Event Set To Raise Funds For Evangelical’s Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program

The Evangelical Gala, Evangelical Community Hospital’s premier fundraising event, will take place on Saturday, March 8 at Larison Hall on the campus of Bucknell University. The Gala begins with a 5:30 pm cocktail hour and a silent auction, followed by dinner, dancing to music provided by the Chatterband of the Philadelphia area, and a live auction featuring a few key, exciting bid items.
Proceeds from this year’s Gala including ticket sales, auctions, and donations will support Evangelical’s highly-skilled, leading Rehabilitation program. The program serves in-patient and out-patient needs in the areas of occupational, physical, and speech therapies and support patients from all specialties including orthopaedics, recovery from stroke, heart attack, and cancer care. The funds will be used for advancements in rehabilitation services for treatment of more complex conditions, certifications and training for therapy staff to remain abreast of the latest techniques and research to maximize patient outcomes, and the expansion of therapy programs to even better meet the rehabilitation needs of the community.
As in years past, the Gala features silent and live auctions with exciting prizes. A sampling of this year’s exciting auction items are a three-night stay at Loews Regency Hotel in New York, New York; a four-night, all-inclusive resort package to Paradisus Playa Del Carman La Perla courtesy of Liberty Travel; and a loose ½ - ¾ carat diamond with a $500 credit to customize your own setting at Foss Jewelers.
The 2014 Gala has been generously supported by businesses and friends of the Hospital. This year’s Grand Sponsor is Stantec, a professional design and consulting firm.
New this year is the introduction of a new auction bidding system. Using Bid Pal, those interested in taking a chance on this year’s auction items can use their smart phones to place their bids and keep up with real-time bid changes. Early bidding can take place the day of and throughout the entire event using the Bid Pal system. For those without smart phones, Bid Pal kiosks will be available at the event to ensure no one misses out on the fine auction items available.
Reservations for tickets to the black-tie optional event can be made by calling 570-522-2685 and are needed by February 21, 2014.
