Evangelical Community Hospital Joins Blue Cross of Northeastern PA in Providing Options

Evangelical Community Hospital, located in Lewisburg, is now a participating member of First Priority Health, a subsidiary of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, offering even more healthcare options and choice to the plan’s participants.
Evangelical offers individuals participating in First Priority Health access to advanced healthcare. From gall bladders and hernia repair to bariatric services and wound care, the wide-range of Evangelical services and specialties are now accessible to individuals in Lycoming County and the surrounding area.
“We are pleased to welcome First Priority participants to Evangelical Community Hospital. We continue to explore new ways to meet the needs of our patients and their families and to expand to reach even more people in need. Participating in First Priority Health means we can make our patient-centered care and services accessible to more individuals and families,” said Michael O’Keefe, President and CEO of Evangelical Community Hospital.
First Priority Health participants can now request referrals from their primary care physicians for specialists and services associated with Evangelical Community Hospital. The Hospital’s specialists include primary care physicians, pulmonologists, rheumatologists, physical therapists, and board-certified surgeons at Evangelical Surgical Specialists, who utilize the Hospital’s newly expanded operating rooms to perform a full-range of minimally invasive procedures as well as traditional, open procedures.
The Hospital also actively recruits experienced physicians supplying the Susquehanna Valley with specialists trained in innovative procedures and using new technology. Thanks to those efforts, participants have available to them treatments for a variety of issues including sinuplasty for sinus sufferers, catheterization for cardiac and vascular blockages, joint replacement procedures, and more.
