Thyra M. Humphreys Center For Breast Health Receives Team Award
The Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health was recently presented with the first-ever Team CHOICE Award at Evangelical Community Hospital.
The Evangelical CHOICE Award recognizes teams within the Evangelical Community Hospital family of facilities who uphold the highest standards of Communication, Hospitality, Ownership, Integrity, Confidentiality, and Empathy. The award is given quarterly to a department out of nominations received from employees and managers.
The Center for Breast Health (CBH) received two separate nominations from within the Hospital. According to one of the center’s nominations, “Patients are always first. Employees go above and beyond their duties for external and internal patient satisfaction. The team pulls together through thick and thin. We are a family here at CBH.”
The department’s second nomination stated: “The compassion and empathy exhibited by the entire staff is exemplified by the numerous thank you notes received from patients regarding their experience at the Breast Center. All staff members are professional and compassionate when dealing with patients. Everyone will go out of their way to ensure that each patient's needs are met and very often exceeded. There is great rapport between the Breast Center and other departments, especially the surgical staff and the Cancer Center. The Breast Center staff is a true example of the standards of excellence for which Evangelical Community Hospital is noted.”
The award was presented to the team by Kendra Aucker, Chief Operating Officer and Andrew Gibbons, Associate Vice President of Primary & Specialty Care.
Evangelical is a non-profit organization that employs approximately 1626 individuals and has more than 170 employed and non-employed physicians on staff.
