34th Annual Lights of Love

To Benefit Hospice of Evangelical

  • Since Hospice of Evangelical began in 1989, thousands of families have received hospice care in Union, Snyder, Northumberland, and surrounding counties.
  • Hospice care is based on providing quality of life with special focus on comfort and pain control. Registered nurses are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Hospice patients have a life-limiting illness and life expectancy of six months or less.
  • Lights of Love proceeds help Hospice of Evangelical provide compassionate care to terminally-ill patients and their families.

2021 Honoring Caregivers

Throughout the years, our Hospice of Evangelical staff and volunteers have been touched by  the patients, families, and caregivers we have met. Each person who has cared for a loved one, gives of themselves to ensure physical care is provided, autonomy is respected, and the last phase of life is lived to the fullest.

The complexity of caregiving combined with the continuing pandemic presents families with challenges. We witnessed families exhibiting strength, resilience, and problem solving while providing care with love and respect.

Our honorary chairpersons are the family of Paul Snyder, lovingly referred to as Tom. Tom was cared for by his daughter, Brenda Swineford, and Tom’s wife, Gale. They are thankful for the Hospice of Evangelical team. Brenda is a retired and experienced hospice RN, who appreciated Hospice of Evangelical’s support in her role as daughter and caregiver. Her father was grateful for the laughter, the excellent care, the spiritual visits, and the gentle, loving touch of the Hospice staff who were always available for a phone call or visit.

This year, we hope you will join us in honoring our caregivers and their loved ones who have faced extreme challenges these past months. Your gift to Lights of Love will help Hospice of Evangelical continue to provide compassionate end-of-life care for our patients and much needed support services for families and caregivers.
