Free Educational Programs for Children

Evangelical offers a wide range of free educational programming for children. We want to help them begin learning the importance of good health and wellness – for their minds and their bodies – at an early age.

Germ City: Clean Hands, Healthy People

Our Germ City program uses an entertaining technique to help children, parents, and teachers look differently at an invisible problem: germs. This hands-on experience helps them to see the effects of improper handwashing in a different light.


MyPlate

Our “MyPlate” program illustrates the five food groups that are the building blocks of a healthy diet. Using the familiar image of a place setting for a meal, this program teaches children nutrition information and proper serving sizes.


Heart Power

“You can have a healthy heart. It’s as easy as 1, 2, and 3! Eat healthy stuff, move around enough, live tobacco free!” Our American Heart Association school site program teaches children about the heart and how to keep it healthy for a lifetime.


Hands Only CPR

This program, for children in grades 3 and higher, teaches students how to perform a hands-only form of CPR they can use to save a life in an emergency.


Tobacco Free Kids

Kids are vulnerable to peer pressure and other social influences that can make smoking and other tobacco use seem appealing. This program raises awareness of the dangers of:

  • smoking
  • nicotine
  • addiction
  • second/third hand smoke
  • chewing tobacco
  • e-cigarettes

and encourages kids to avoid these substances.


Sun’s Out … Kids Out

Summer is great for playing outside, swimming, going to playgrounds, and doing other fun activities. But it also can bring safety hazards. Designed for children in grades 3 and under, this program teaches kids about summer safety so they can focus on fun.


Don’t Stress. Do Your Best!

Young people, like adults, experience stress. It can come from a variety of sources, including:

  • trying to do well in school
  • making and keeping friends
  • managing expectations from parents, teachers, and coaches

Designed for students in grades 3 and higher, this class helps children:

  • identify different types of stress
  • become aware of the effects stress has on their life
  • learn how to cope with stress

Personal Hygiene 101

This fun, interactive program teaches children:

  • the importance of having good personal hygiene
  • how to stay clean and healthy 
  • that looking and feeling good are important for each person’s emotional and physical wellbeing

Online Safety

Designed for children in grades 4 and under, this program teaches children to “think before they click.” Topics include:

  • the importance of protecting personal information while online
  • how to be a responsible, digital citizen
  • what to do if they experience cyber bullying

Poison Prevention

Did you know that most poisonings involve everyday household items such as cleaning supplies, medicines, cosmetics, and personal care items? Our poison prevention program is a fun and interactive program aimed at helping educate children on the dangers of these poisons and what to do if they would come in contact with them.


Bike Helmet Safety

Bike riding is a lot of fun, but it is important to stay safe while we ride on two wheels. Our Bike Helmet Safety program teaches children important information for riding their bike including:

  • bike safety tips
  • the importance of a properly fitted helmet
  • proper equipment fit and maintenance
