Health Screenings
To help you learn more about the state of your current health, Evangelical offers a wide range of important health screenings and clinics at various points throughout the year. Visit the Calendar of Events for the dates of screenings currently offered.
Comprehensive Blood Screenings
A comprehensive blood screening can provide important information about your current health.
Screening includes:
- lipid panel (HDL, LDL, total cholesterol, and triglycerides)
- complete blood count (CBC)
- comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP, includes blood sugar, electrolytes, calcium, proteins, liver enzyme, etc.)
Fasting is recommended for at least 12 hours prior to screening.
Cost: $55 for the basic package.

Blood Pressure Screenings
Evangelical’s Community Health and Wellness department offers free blood pressure screenings at various locations throughout the community every month, including our Community Health and Wellness Center.

- Mifflinburg YMCA
- Milton YMCA
- Sunbury YMCA
Cost: Free

Blood Sugar (Glucose) Screenings
We also offer blood sugar screening at various locations throughout the community every month, including our Community Health and Wellness Center.

Healthy Heart Screenings
You can assess your risk of having a heart attack or stroke during one of Evangelical’s free Healthy Heart screenings.
Offered in February, this screening includes: Screenings include: lipid panel , blood pressure,
and body composition.

Hearing Screenings
Free hearing screenings are available throughout the year at Surgical Specialists of Evangelical by Krystal Decker, AuD, Audiologist.
This screen may be right for you if:
- People seem to mumble or speak softly?
- You avoid family meetings or social situations because of hearing issues?
- Others have told you that you don't seem to hear them?
You'll receive information on how to take care of your ears and go over options for assistive devices.

Osteoporosis Screenings
Evangelical offers osteoporosis screenings at The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness several times during the year.
You qualify for a free screening if you:
- Have not had a DXA scan in the past two years
- Have not had a heel bone density test in the past year
AND meet one of the following criteria:
- Females over age 65, men over age 70
- Fracture resulting in a fall from standing or less

Skin Cancer Screenings
These screenings, with Daria Keyser, DO, helps individuals recognize their own pattern of moles, freckles, and “beauty marks.” By being familiar with what is considered normal allows people to be more alert to changes in the number, size, shape, and color of pigmented areas that may be of concern.

Varicose and Spider Vein Screenings
Performed at Heart and Vascular Center of Evangelical by Todd Stefan, MD, FACS, RPVI, Benjamin Keyser, DO, and Rachel Carr, PA-C, MPAS, these screenings include a free examination of varicose and/or spider veins and an overview of treatment options. If indicated, a free trial treatment can be provided the same day as the screening or at a follow-up appointment. Appointments are required.

Women’s Health Screenings
This health screening for women is held in May. This screening offers several baseline measures to help you assess your risk for serious health issues such as:
- diabetes
- high blood pressure
- heart disease
- certain forms of cancer
FREE screenings include:
- blood pressure
- body composition testing
- skin screen
- pelvic exam
- clinical breast exam
Optional screening tests are available for an additional fee*.
Fasting is recommended for at least 12 hours prior to screening.
*Individual test fees are substantially lower in cost to full test charges—in some cases a savings of several hundred dollars
