Wellness at Work is programming provided through the Community Health and Wellness department of Evangelical for worksites to bring wellness programs and initiatives to their employees.

Wellness program offerings provide a framework of options that can be chosen individually or be combined to create an integrative approach for congruency of initiatives into a comprehensive program.

As part of our worksite community, you will also receive quarterly wellness education material, additional screening and lectures offered through Community Health and Wellness and Wellness at Work updates.

Health and Wellness Seminars             

The Evangelical Community Health and Wellness team has vast experience in developing educational seminars that are engaging and interactive and current with the trends of the wellness industry. Often referred to as Lunch and Learns, these 30-minute presentations invite employees to bring their lunch (or breakfast!) and learn valuable information that addresses various health topics and lifestyle changes. These seminars can be offered in-person or virtually. Examples include:

  • Healthy Food Substitutions
  • Healthy Hydration
  • Healthy Habits for Weight Loss
  • Reduce Emotional & Physical Burnout
  • Reduce Workplace Stress
  • How to be Heart Smart
  • Healthy Living is a Lifestyle
  • Personal Safety (Back Safety, etc.)
  • Smoking/Vaping Cessation
  • Healthy Cooking and Recipes
Wellness Workshops             

These workshops are programming with more detail and depth. These classes occur in succession over several weeks that build from the previous week for healthy lifestyle growth. Workshops can be done in person or virtually. Examples include:

The Compound Effect
This six-week course guides participants through a multi-level approach of daily steps towards wellness through healthy eating and being active. This program focuses on the effect small habits can make and compound into larger change.

Stress Less
Evangelical Community Hospital’s Health and Wellness team will provide a four-week on-site Stress Less Class. The class will consist of four, 30-minute sessions focusing on types of stress, the effects of stress on the body, recognizing triggers of stress, stress reduction techniques, and more.

Smoking Cessation
Freedom From Smoking® from the American Lunch Association. Over the course of eight sessions, learn to overcome tobacco addiction with the help of a certified educator through this program. The seven-week program can give you the tools you need to be smoke-free and enjoy the benefits of a healthier you.

Work Fit
This program helps modify your work to fit you instead of the you to fit your work. We assess how you sit, stand, or move in your work environment. Then we work on adjusting equipment, posture, and flexibility to remove physical discomfort and tension. Reducing work injury and stress.

Wellness Challenges             

Wellness challenges are designed to engage your workforce into action through activities that encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors. These challenges can be offered in a “Flash,” 1-week engagement challenge, or longer multi-week challenges. These challenges are done virtually and include a variety of wellness initiatives. Examples include:

  • Nutrition and Healthy Eating
  • Variety of Exercise (walking, strength training, plank challenges.)
  • Minimizing Stress and Burnout
  • Building Healthy Habits
  • Mindfulness and Healthy Mindset
  • Healthy Sleep
  • Unplug from Technology
  • Hydration
  • Financial Wellness
Health Coaching             

Experience firsthand how our certified health coaches work with individuals one- on- one and help them identify areas in their health where they can make desired changes to wellness including weight loss, physical activity, nutrition, stress, and burnout management. One plan does not work for everyone. health coaches create individualized plans to give you the tools and guidance you need to make lifestyle changes for a sustained happier healthier life.

Health Coaching assists the client in: 

  • Determining readiness to make changes
  • Defining health and wellness goals
  • Setting SMART goals
  • Identifying barriers and motivators for success
  • Providing support to keep the goal on track
Health and Safety Classes             

First Aid and CPR
Our trained CPR and First Aid instructors deliver the American Heart Association courses in Heartsaver with CPR/ AED and/or First Aid and Healthcare Provider (BLS) with CPR/AED. 

Blood Borne Pathogen Training course covers what bloodborne pathogens are, what diseases could be transmitted, potential exposure, how to protect yourself, and what to do if an exposure does occur.  

Narcan Administration Training is also available upon request. Evangelical Community Health and Wellness trains individuals and organizations to have lifesaving skills in place in the event of an opioid overdose. Course includes:

  • What an opioid is
  • How to recognize signs and symptoms of an overdose
  • How to administer Naloxone, also known as Narcan

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. This program has been added to our Wellness at Work offerings to provide additional options for employees to have a safe environment and create independence for their children while juggling work and childcare.

Biometric and Health Screenings             

Biometric screening is a complete cardiac health testing panel that identifies cardiac risk factors for employees. 

The biometric screening includes:

  • Venous Blood Draw Screenings* or Finger Stick Blood screenings (POC)
    • Includes Lipid Panel (HDL, LDL, total cholesterol, and triglycerides) and blood glucose.
  • Blood Pressure
  • Body Composition-height, weight, body fat %, BMI

Other health screenings available upon request:

  • Heel Scans for Bone density
  • Blood Glucose
  • General Health Screenings via Mobile Health of Evangelical

* Physician Reviewed reports will then be mailed to participants
* Aggregate Health report can be provided to you after screenings.
